Operation NOAH

On July 23rd, 2006 a group of nine men from Freedom Fellowship and Fairview Baptist Church traveled to New Orleans to participate in Project NOAH.  This project is a partnership between the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, Louisiana Baptist Convention, New Orleans area associations and churches, the Salvation Army, and Promise Keepers.

This group worked for a week on a house in the Gentilly section of New Orleans that was flooded by 8-10 feet of water.  They repaired the roof and replaced virtually everything that was wood in the house because of massive termite damage.  Though the temperatures and humidity were high, and the work physically demanding, the group accomplished all that they set out to do.  We plan to get another group together for a winter mission!  Contact Cliff if you're interested in participating.

UPDATE:  Since this page was originally posted, volunteers from Freedom Fellowship have returned 3 more times (twice in the winter of 2007 and once in the summer).

We have finally added some pictures to the site!  Click here to go to the galleries

For freedom did Christ set us free: stand fast therefore, and be not entangled again...
